Rocco Commisso touched on a whole host of topics during a radio interview with SiriusXM FC 157 today – from his hopes and aspirations for Fiorentina, to the Viola's involvement in the forthcoming International Champions Cup in the States at the end of July and Federico Chiesa's future.

"Soccer has done so much for me," the president began, before explaining his desire to invest in Italy, from his initial contact with various clubs to his acquisition of Fiorentina in record time (three weeks): "I see things that other people don't see. Fiorentina didn't win any trophies with the previous ownership and I saw the opportunity to do better. As I've said, though: I need time. I can't do everything in one month but I hope to be able to give the fans something to be proud of."

Commisso then recalled the love he felt in Florence, with hundreds of fans asking for selfies, and at the Stadio Franchi, where thousands welcomed him with singing and flag-waving - describing the reception he was given as "absolutely amazing" and "pretty emotional".

He went on to discuss the need to boost the club's and Serie A's revenue streams, which are currently way behind the average Premier League side, as well as the future of the stadium, the training ground and rebranding of the team.

The president also reiterated that Federico Chiesa will not be leaving the club: "He's going to stay for at least another year, unless there's something contractual that I'm not aware of, but I don't think there is and I've been assured there is not by the previous ownership."

Finally, he called on the fans to turn the Red Bull Arena purple when the Viola play Benfica in Harrison, New Jersey in their final International Champions Cup match on 25 July.
