Twelve Fiorentina players away on international duty

Fiorentina will have 12 players away from the club on international duty this week. Federico Bernardeschi did receive a call-up to the Italy squad, but is unable to link up with the Azzurri due to the ankle problem that kept him out of Sunday’s trip to Crotone.

Davide Astori is in the Italy squad preparing for Friday 24 March’s World Cup qualifier against Albania in Palermo. Italy also have a friendly against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on 28 March.

Federico Chiesa has been called up to the Italy U21 squad for their friendlies against Poland (in Krakow on 23 March) and Spain (at the Stadio Olimpico on 27 March at 21:00 CET).

Milan Badelj and Nikola Kalinic will be looking to help Croatia beat Ukraine in their World Cup qualifier in Zagreb on 24 March. Croatia then fly to Tallinn for a friendly against Estonia on 28 March (18:00 CET).

Josip Ilicic – who was forced off against Crotone with a knock – heads to Glasgow with Slovenia for a World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

Khouma Babacar’s Senegal have two friendlies against Nigeria (in London on 23 March) and Ivory Coast (in Paris on 27 March).

Ciprian Tatarusanu is in the Romania squad for their World Cup qualifier against Denmark in Cluj on 26 March.

Ianis Hagi has been selected by Romania U21s for their friendlies against Russia (24 March) and Denmark (27 March), both in Malaga.

Bartlomiej Dragowski will be part of the Poland U20 squad that takes on Italy and Greece.

Carlos Salcedo’s Mexico side are up against Costa Rica at home on 24 March and Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain on 28 March.

Matias Vecino is in the Uruguay squad to face Brazil in Montevideo on 23 March and Peru in Lima on 28 March.

Carlos Sanchez will link up with Colombia to take on Bolivia in Barranquilla on 23 March and Ecuador in Quito on 28 March.
