Ilicic: "Fiorentina the right team if you want to play beautiful football"

03/08/2013 00:21

Josep Ilicic was officially unveiled as a Viola player at the press room in Moena on Friday. This is what he had to say:

"I'm thrilled to be able to wear the Fiorentina shirt. I love playing the game and treating the ball the same way Montella gets his teams to play."

Has the coach been trying you out in central midfield?
"Yes, but if I have to be honest I'm not particularly keen on playing there."

What's the explanation for your form dip at the end of last season?
"It's not easy playing for a team that changes coach every three months."

What's your personal target?
"To reach full fitness because my team-mates are much further ahead with their preparations than I am."

Ljajic?
"I don't know what he'll do. We're friends but we've never spoken together about his future."

Bakic?
"A very promising youngster."

Have you spoken to Andrea Della Valle?
"Yes, he welcomed me to the club."

Gomez and Rossi?
"They're both world-class."
