Highlights: Orobica 1-4 Fiorentina Women

Fiorentina Women’s FC got off to the best possible start in 2020 with a 4-1 win away at Orobica Bergamo on Saturday.

Ilaria Mauro gave the Viola the lead on 10 minutes, applying the finish from close range after an Alia Guagni cross from the right. And Mauro doubled Fiorentina’s lead nine minutes later as she guided the ball past the Orobica keeper from a Marta Mascarello free-kick.

Orobica halved the deficit in the 22nd minute after Karin Muya pounced on a loose ball for 2-1, and though Fiorentina continued to threaten as the first half wore on, there were no more goals before the interval.

The Viola quickly restored their two-goal lead after the break as Lisa De Vanna slid the ball home to finish off a flowing move on 51 minutes, while Paloma Lazaro’s swept home Frederikke Thøgersen’s cut-back to complete a 4-1 win nine minutes from time.
