Fatih Terim to visit Franchi on Sunday

Fatih Terim will join fellow former Viola boss Claudio Ranieri in attending Fiorentina’s clash with Cagliari at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday as part of the club’s 90th birthday celebrations.

Terim – who is currently in charge of the Turkish national team – took up the reins at Fiorentina at the start of the 2000/01 season, with the Viola going on to win the club’s sixth Coppa Italia title despite the Turk having departed before the end of the campaign.

Regardless of the brevity of his stay in Florence, Terim has always spoken warmly of the city.

"The people of Florence and the Fiorentina fans have a special place in my heart," revealed the Turk. "I consider Italy to be my second home and I have some wonderful memories of Florence. I still have some great friendships from that time too. When I think back to my spell at Fiorentina, I have nothing but positive thoughts. I am so proud to be a part of the history of the club."
