Fiorentina U19s beat Juventus 4-1 to reach Viareggio Cup final
Viareggio
2018-03-26Fiorentina Primavera put four goals past Juventus in the Viareggio Cup semi-finals to set up a meeting with Inter in the final.
Solid at the back and inventive up front, Emiliano Bigica's side were full value for the 4-1 final scoreline.
The Viola went 2-0 up inside the opening 15 minutes. Erald Lakti broke the deadlock when he won a challenge on the edge of the box and slammed past Leonardo Loria before Abdou Diakhate poked home the loose ball from close range following a corner.
Juventus pulled one back shortly after the break through Giuseppe Montaperto but two minutes later Gabriele Gori restored Fiorentina's two-goal advantage with a clinical finish after muscling aside his marker.
As the game entered stoppage time Diakhate missed the chance to add a fourth from the penalty spot but made up for it a minute later when he added his second from close range.
The Viola can now look forward to a rematch of the 2017 Scudetto final against the Nerazzurri, who beat Parma 2-0 in the other semi-final.
The match will be played at Viareggio's Stadio Bresciani on Wednesday 28 March, with kick-off at 15:00 CEST.
