Viareggio: Fiorentina beat Sassuolo 3-2 to set up semi-final showdown with Juventus

Fiorentina U19s booked their place in the last four of the Viareggio Cup with a thrilling 3-2 triumph over last year's winners Sassuolo.

Josip Maganjic set the Viola on their way with a brilliant opener, cleverly skipping past his marker before lashing home from 20 yards.

Fiorentina went 2-0 up when Dennis Joseph turned into his own net following a corner and Gabriele Gori came within whiskers of making it 3-0 with a fierce finish that rattled the post.

Sassuolo halved the deficit shortly before the interval through Aristidi Kolaj following a mazy run and finish then levelled the scores on the hour mark thanks to Mota Carvalho's penalty.

The winner came courtesy of Gori five minutes later as he swooped to turn in the loose ball after Riccardo Sottil's effort had been saved.

Fiorentina will now face Juventus in the semi-finals on Monday. Kick-off at the Stadio Bresciani is at 15:00 CEST.
